Salford’s £70m Residence tower has been placed into administration by its developer Elliot Group.
It comes following funding problems brought about by allegations of fraud and corruption against the company’s founder, Elliot Lawless.
Mr Lawless denies all allegations and said on Friday there is ‘no evidence to substantiate them’.
The Residence is one of three schemes in the north west that are now under threat after Mr Lawless made the announcement today - the other two are in Liverpool.
