Saturday night saw awards season continue, with the leading Hollywood A-listers walking the red carpet at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. And it wasn't just the awards that had fans delighted, with the stars of Devil Wears Prada reuniting on stage in a special moment, 18 years after the release of the hit film.
The film's stars Emily Blunt, Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway appeared together to announce the award for Best Male Actor in a Comedy Series, which went to Jeremy Allen White. Appearing on stage to present the award, Meryl, who was wearing Prada, appeared to walk into the microphone saying: “Two things, I forgot my glasses, clearly, and the envelope,” before Emily and Anne appeared on stage with both the items.
In the film, Meryl played Miranda Priestly, the demanding editor-in-chief of a high fashion magazine, with Emily starring as her long-term assistant Emily and Anne as Andrea, a new assistant. Meryl, 74, said: "It is an age old question, where does the character end and the actor begin?" To which, Emily, 41, quipped: "Well as we see Miranda Priestley and Meryl Streep are like twins." Fans were quick to react to the reunion with many sharing their happiness on X, formerly Twitter.
One wrote: "THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA REUNION IN 2024 I'M SCREAMING!!!!!" And another added: "This 'The Devil Wears Prada' moment at the #SAGAwards will live rent free in our heads forever."
