Rylan Clark has opened up about his marriage split and the toll it took on his mental health. The radio and TV star split from husband Dan Neal in 2021 after six years. The news came out amid Rylan's four-month break from the spotlight.
Rylan, 33, bravely opened up about his struggles during that period earlier this year, where he admitted that for the first time in his life he felt 'alone'.
But now, in a new interview, the BBC Radio 2 host has said his "telly mum and dad", Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, were concerned about the "state" he was in and how he nearly lost control last summer as he came to terms with what had happened.

Speaking to The Sun, Rylan said: "There was a point when I was really, really bad when I went back to my house that I’d moved out of. I hadn’t been there for so long because I didn’t feel comfortable. My mum and sister-in-law were acting really weird and I didn’t know why. Next thing, Eamonn and Ruth turned up and I just broke down."
Rylan went on to say that Eamonn and Ruth were "frightened" and "really shocked" at how they found him. He also confessed that just looking back at the incident made him get emotional.
While now trying to rebuild his life, and undergoing an incredible fitness transformation, Rylan said he needs to learn to trust again. "I want nothing more than to be with someone who supports me and I support them and is proud of me and is happy for me and vice versa," he said. "That's all I want. But I’m in no rush. It has to be right," the former X Factor star added.
