TV and radio star Rylan Clark was caught up in an unexpected Twitter row with former Conservative MP Edwina Currie after being told to 'get real.' Rylan, who hosts the Strictly Come Dancing spin-off show Strictly: It Takes Two, took to social media to comment on revelations about Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
He wrote: "He’s officially broke the law . That’s it ain’t it?'. But his comment caught the attention of former I'm a Celebrity....Get Me Out of Here! contestant Edwina, who famously resigned from her role as junior health minister in 1988 over the salmonella-in-eggs controversy.
The 75-year-old, who appeared on I'm a Celeb in 2014, disagreed and told him: "No, it isn’t. Shouldn’t have happened, but it’s done now. In case you hadn’t noticed, this all happened two years ago. Putin is laughing at us. Get real."

Radio 2 presenter Rylan, 33, remarked: "I did not have @Edwina_Currie on my bingo card for this morning." And he clapped back: "Edwina, there’s a war, we’re living with Covid, there’s a lot going on publicly and personally. I’m aware when it was. Believe me I don’t need to 'get real' it’s a statement. Not an opinion. You stay well, as will I."
Posting on his Instagram story Rylan, who has been giving fans updates on a squirrel visiting his garden after he bought a miniature picnic bench for his furry friends, added: "Twitter beef with Edwina Currie at 7am. Not today babe. Got a squirrel to feed."
