Ryan Reynolds And ‘The Adam Project’ Co-Star Walker Scobell Team Up For Mac & Cheese Ad

Regina King, Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds and Lin-Manuel Miranda will serve as co-chairs of the Met Gala, returning to its traditional berth on the first Monday in May. The May 2 evening is actually the second star-studded gala after the annual fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute was split during the pandemic.  It celebrates "In America: An Anthology of Fashion," the second part of a major two-part exhibition at the museum exploring the roots of American fashion.

“The Adam Project” is the latest Netflix film to come from the Ryan Reynolds Industrial Complex (after 2021’s gimmicky “Red Notice”), and it feels fair to applaud it for what it resists. It doesn’t cram movie pop culture references down the audience’s throat; it keeps the Reynolds character’s meta-like winks to a minimum; it lets Reynolds’ fast-talking, incorrigibly charismatic smart-ass ways seem based in a complicated humanity instead of a contractual obligation from the lead star’s power.
