Ruth Langsford has given an update on her husband Eamonn Homes' health after he left fans worried following a hospital stay. Earlier this week, Eamonn explained why he has been absent from his presenting gig on GB News, telling fans he'd, unfortunately, had to undergo "unexpected" treatment for his long-term back condition in hospital. And on Tuesday's instalment of Loose Women, Ruth was asked how Eamonn was now doing by her fellow panellist Janet Street-Porter.
"Thanks for asking. Well, he's out [of the hospital] now, and he's resting at home," Ruth, who recently showed off her "powder brows" transformation, told her. Ruth continued: "Well, you know he's had this bad back problem, it played up again, and he ended up in hospital for a couple of days.
"Yeah, so it's been a bit worrying. That's why I wasn't here last week. But he is out now and resting at home." Addressing viewers at home, Ruth added: "Thank you all for your very good wishes to Eamonn." This comes after 62 year old Eamonn reassured his followers they can expect to see him back on the show next week. He also shed light on his struggles with his back problems, which he has suffered from for years.
Posting a statement on his Twitter page, Eamonn began: "Hi everyone, Many of you have been asking why I haven't been presenting GB News for the past week. "Unfortunately, due to a reoccurrence of a long-term back condition, I've had to undergo some unexpected hospital treatment and am now following Doctor's orders by taking a short time off. "However, I'm looking forward to being back alongside Isabel, my Breakfast co-presenter and friend, next week.
