Melodia, with a library of 240,000 recordings, survived the fall of the Soviet Union.MOSCOW — Russia has privatized Melodia, the country's oldest state-run record label and the owner of Russia's largest music library.
Russian licensing company ForMaks purchased the former Soviet label at an auction for 329.6 million rubles ($5.1 million), the federal agency for state property management announced last week on its web site.
