A woman was taken to hospital with a leg injury after being rescued near a Greater Manchester nature reserve. A team of 18 people from Bolton Mountain Rescue were sent out to help North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) after the 41-year-old was hurt on fields near Borsdane Wood, on the border of Wigan and Bolton.

A rugby league player was rushed to hospital after being impaled by a corner flag as he celebrated scoring a try.
Charlie Mills, 18, suffered the freak injury while playing for amateur club Saddleworth Rangers in a game against Ince Rose Bridge on Sunday. The winger dived over the line early in the second half to bring Rangers back into the game as they trailed 20-6 at half time.
But as he celebrated, Charlie said an opposing player kicked the corner flag "in anger", causing it to bounce up and become stuck in the back of his leg.

"I thought I'd pulled a muscle or strained something at first," explained Charlie, from Oldham. "When I looked down, I saw a massive six-foot pole flopping around in my leg."
Medical personnel were on hand to stop any attempts to pull the flag from Charlie's leg before emergency services arrived. Firefighters cut the six-foot pole to allow paramedics to fit Charlie into an ambulance.
He was taken to hospital where he underwent successful surgery to remove the flag pole. Charlie was pictured holding the spiked pole in his hand, simultaneously in shock and awe at his impaler.
The photo shows how deeply the pole was stuck in his leg. Charlie, who plays as a winger, said he hopes to make a full recovery and return to the rugby field as soon as possible.
He has since returned home and intends to keep the flag pole as a reminder of his freak injury. "When they pulled it out, it was like a spear or a javelin." he said.
"I got off lightly. It was a muscle tear but luckily it missed all the arteries and tendons in my leg. The funny thing is there was no blood at all.
