RTÉ has announced that Normal People will air on April 28.
The TV adaption of Sally Rooney’s award-winning book follows two young people “navigating adulthood in contemporary Ireland, and their complicated relationship from the end of their school days in Sligo to their undergraduate years at Trinity College.”
The show stars Paul Mescal in his first TV role as Connell and British actress Daisy Edgar Jones as Marianne.

Normal People has been high on people’s TV must-watch lists lately and we can’t say we’re surprised… it’s SO good! The BBC series, which is an adaptation of Sally Rooney’s acclaimed novel, landed in full on iPlayer recently, and we’re sure popcorn has been flying off shelves to accompany evening binge-watching sessions as a result. As well as being fond of the series, it seems fans are also gushing over lead actor Paul Mescal, 24, too, who plays Irish heartthrob, Connell.
If anyone is having a moment right now, it’s Daisy Edgar-Jones. As the fearless female lead in the BBC’s pitch perfect adaptation of Sally Rooney’s bestselling novel, Normal People, the 21 year-old Londoner is suddenly the name on everyone’s lips.
If you haven’t heard of the new Irish series Normal People yet, you must be one of very few people who haven’t become completely obsessed with Paul Mescal.

It's likely there was never going to be a perfect adaptation of Normal People, Sally Rooney's excellent best-selling novel detailing the complicated but tender relationship between two Irish teens, but Hulu's attempt, which is now streaming, is a valiant effort.
