Roy Keane heaped praise on the 'outstanding' Kobbie Mainoo after the young midfielder's first Premier League start in Manchester United's 3-0 win at Everton on Sunday.
Mainoo was the surprise name on the team sheet on Sunday as United travelled to a fervent Goodison Park. Erik ten Hag's side silenced the home support to pick up their fifth win in six league games, thanks to goals from Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.
But while United's front-three took the plaudits for their goals, Mainoo was the standout player on the day in the heart of midfield. The 18-year-old put in a performance full of composure and aggression under great pressure on Merseyside, dictating play and suppressing Everton attacks.
