Roku Channel Renews ‘Doomlands’ for Season 2, Orders Unscripted Series ‘Survival From Above’ and ‘Lincoln Log Project’

NBC is exploring how life survived prehistoric catastrophes in “Surviving Earth.”The network announced a series order Tuesday for eight episodes that will transport audiences back to the lost world of prehistoric life, allowing viewers to witness how life finds a way to survive on a planet where meteors fall, super volcanoes erupt, seas boil and the land moves. A co-production between Universal Television Alternative Studio, a division of Universal Studio Group, and U.K.

Selome Hailu NBC has ordered eight episodes of “Surviving Earth,” an unscripted series about how life not only survived during the cataclysmic events of the prehistoric era, but thrived. The series aims to find what lessons can be learned from past mass extinctions.“Surviving Earth” is co-produced by Universal Television Alternative Studio and UK indie production company Loud Minds.

Roku announced today it is partnering with NBCUniversal Local to bring several NBC local news channels to the Roku Channel. Starting today, the channels will be available for users to access through the Roku Channel’s Live TV Guide, marking the first time that local news programming is accessible on the platform.

Paramount+ has handed a series order to School Spirits (w/t), a YA drama based on Nate & Megan Trinrud and Maria Nguyen’s upcoming graphic novel, with Peyton List (Cobra Kai) attached to star. The series order is part of Paramount’s push to expand its YA content. School Spirits (w/t) will be produced by Awesomeness Studio.

The Boys has been renewed for a fourth season by Amazon, just over a week after the third series dropped.Based on the comic book series by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, the show has been ordered for another season according to Deadline, although it is unclear when it will be released.In a statement, show creator Eric Kripke said: “Speaking for the cast and crew, we’re so grateful to Sony, Amazon, and most of all the fans for embracing the show and allowing us to make more.“We’re thrilled to continue Butcher and the Boys’ fight against Homelander and the Seven, as well as comment on the insane world we’re living in. Also, this is the first time in history that exploding genitalia has led to further success.”Since the main show was released, Amazon has ordered two spin-offs from The Boys.
