Roger Whittaker has passed away.
The British singer, who was best known for his 1975 pop hit “The Last Farewell,” died at the age of 87 on September 13 in Toulouse, France, after battling a long illness.

A statement from the Whittaker family and Sony Music posted to Roger’s official website announced the news of the singer’s passing and said that he died “in peace in the presence of his family.”
“Roger was an iconic artist, a wonderful husband and father. He touched so many hearts with his music during his lifetime and will always live on in our memories,” the joint statement continued. “Roger will be greatly missed, his legacy will forever live on in our hearts and in his art.”
