Tributes are being paid to former Rochdale AFC and Stockport County manager John Hollins after his death aged 76.
The passing of the ex-Chelsea player and manager was confirmed by the club he made almost 600 appearances for today, with the footballing world uniting to pay their respects and share memories.
Hollins went on to manage Rochdale in the 2001/2 season, leading the club to the then Division 3 play-offs. He also managed Stockport County. Dale led the tributes in Greater Manchester today.

In a tweet, the club said: "Everyone at Rochdale Football Club is saddened to learn of the passing of our former manager, John Hollins MBE. John was manager from December 2001 - May 2002 and led us to the Division 3 play-offs.
"Our thoughts are with John's family and friends at this difficult time."
Hollins also managed Queens Park Rangers as a caretaker, Swansea City, Crawley Town and Weymouth - but Chelsea was his club, managing at Stamford Bridge from 1985 to 1988 after becoming a fans' favourite on the pitch.
He made just shy of 600 appearances for the west London side as a player between 1963 and 1975 before his three-year stint as boss.
After announcing the news today, Chelsea board member Daniel Finkelstein said: "He was a hero to the fans of this club, and very much that to me.
"He was at the heart of one of Chelsea’s greatest teams and, as well as contributing to its trophy success, he expressed its spirit."
