Matt Donnelly Senior Film Writer Andy Muschietti is officially suiting up to direct a new Batman film, Variety can report exclusively. The film is one of several new DC Studios titles mapped out by leaders James Gunn and Peter Safran earlier this year. Muschietti, behind this weekend’s superhero release “The Flash,” will direct “Batman: The Brave and the Bold.” The project is based on the comic series authored by Grant Morrison, who Gunn called “exceptionally influential” on in the DC Universe in January. The comics imagine a “Bat family,” where Bruce Wayne’s biological son Damian serves as Robin to his dad’s Batman. Muschietti’s sister and creative partner Barbara will produce the project via their label Double Dream, alongside Gunn and Safran.

Chelsea Handler voiced a call to action against the "horny old men" of the world. The former late night talk show host chastised Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Alec Baldwin and Elon Musk for "spreading their seed." "There's a new epidemic sweeping the country, and no, it's not another virus," Handler said in an Instagram clip. "It's worse – horny old men who won't stop spreading their seed." But I did get a magic phone call here, from Bill, out of the blue, saying, “I think you’d be good for this football show.”

Maybe Freddy Krueger is, but I’m not. I’m just a character actor, a utility actor who’s been very lucky.”

While speaking to ET's Rachel Smith, Sebastian opened up about teaming up with the screen legend as well as working on his upcoming Max series, . In the movie, which opens in theaters on Friday, May 26, De Niro portrays a version of Maniscalco's immigrant, hairdresser father, Salvo Maniscalco, who finds himself amid a culture clash with the parents of his son's fiancée (Leslie Bibb) after their two families get together for a summer weekend. «It's a classic situation between the in-laws,» De Niro said of the movie, describing Bibb's onscreen family as «very waspy and just the opposite of Salvo.» And as a result, «there's a lot of humor in it,» he said, adding that «anybody can relate to it.»  But when it came to telling this heightened version of his father, Maniscalco revealed, «My father said, 'You're not going to make this movie unless you get De Niro to play me,'» before joking that Salvo got to approve whoever ended up in the titular role.
