Rishi Sunak paid more than half a million pounds in UK tax last year.
The Tory Prime Minister published his personal tax return on Friday afternoon as MPs were on their holidays.
Sunak earned more than £2.2 million and paid a tax bill of £508,308 in the financial year 2022-23.
His income included £1.8 million in capital gains from one US-based investment fund. It also included £293,407 in other interests and dividends.
All of the investment income and capital gains came from a US-based investment fund listed as a blind trust, according to the summary.
He also had a £139,477 salary from his MP and Prime Minister jobs.
His total income has risen by £1.9 million from the year before.
Rather than a full tax return, No 10 published “a summary” of Mr Sunak’s UK taxable income, capital gains and tax paid over the last tax year as reported to HM Revenue & Customs, prepared by accountancy service Evelyn Partners.
The former California resident separately paid 6,847 US dollars in tax from 45,646 US dollars of dividends that were taxed separately in the US in 2022.
The House of Commons has been in recess since Thursday afternoon and will come back the week after next.
This means that MPs are not in parliament to discuss Sunak's mega tax return.
Sunak is the wealthiest Prime Minister in history. He and his wife Akshata Murty have an estimated worth of £520 million.
He was branded "out of touch" earlier this week after he placed a £1,000 bet with Piers Morgan that flights would take asylum seekers to Rwanda before the general election.
Tory Chancellor Jeremy Hunt also published a summary of his tax return.
He made £416,605 last year. Some £27,370 was in rental income. He paid £117,418 in income tax and capital gains tax in the UK.
