Mr Sunak appeared jubilant when one young child told him 'we're voting for you' after posing for a photo with the Prime Minister. "Oh, that's very good", he replied, embracing her. "Thank you very much. Excellent. I like that. Go tell lots of other people to do that as well."
Speaking to the media later on, Mr Sunak said he is 'confident' that the Conservatives can hold onto seats in the North West which they gained from Labour at the last general election. Bury North - where James Daly hosted Mr Sunak on the visit - was among them.

With a majority of just 105 votes, Mr Daly secured the seat for the Tories in 2019 by the tightest margin in Britain. He was one of five Conservatives to steal seats from Labour in Greater Manchester five years ago, but is now the only one running for the Tories again.
It comes after Mark Logan, the outgoing Tory MP for Bolton North East, became the second Conservative in Greater Manchester to join Labour since the last election. Mr Logan is one of five Conservative MPs across the city-region not seeking re-election on July 4.
