Rishi Sunak and Sir Keir Starmer will go head to head in the first televised leaders' debate of the General Election campaign next week.
Mr Sunak confirmed in a televised statement outside Number 10 last week that the election would take place on Thursday, July 4. He had previously said the general election would take place in the 'second half' of 2024.
ITV confirmed the Prime Minister and the Labour leader will take part in the show at 9pm on Tuesday June 4. The hour-long debate will be moderated by Julie Etchingham and take place in front of a studio audience.

Michael Jermey, ITV's director of news and current affairs, said: "Millions of viewers value the election debates. They provide a chance to see and hear the party leaders set out their pitch to the country, debate directly with each other and take questions from voters. ITV is pleased to be broadcasting the first debate in this year's election campaign."
It comes as the BBC confirmed which presenters will be fronting their TV coverage on the night of the general election. Mastermind host Clive Myrie and Sunday morning political show presenter Laura Kuenssberg have been confirmed and the pair will be joined by BBC political editor Chris Mason and Reeta Chakrabarti on July 4.
At the last election in 2019, the corporation's coverage was anchored by Huw Edwards, but he resigned from the BBC earlier this year following allegations that he paid a young person for sexually explicit photos. The election night was previously only presented by one anchor with Edwards taking over from veteran host David Dimbleby in 2019.
