Ring Video Doorbells have become increasingly for safety-conscious homeowners who want to keep an eye on people coming to and from their home.
But as well as giving people an added level of security the doorbells can provide some festive cheer. Those who own the Ring device can change up the sound to a merry chime and add a special Christmas greeting for visiting friends and family.
To change the chime you will need to have the Ring app installed on your tablet or phone. From here simply open the app and select the device that you wish to edit, then head to the audio settings and click on the option for 'Chime Tones.'
A number of options will then be presented including Christmas chimes such as Festive Ding Dong and Holiday Jingle. Once saved the sound will replace your regular doorbell sound, the Mirror reports.
To add a festive message find the 'Quick Replies' button in the app and alter one of the responses. For instance, instead of a standard greeting, you could have one that says: "Merry Christmas!... We’re a little, wrapped up at the moment. Leave a message."
If this wasn't all festive enough for you, you can also give your doorbell a Christmas makeover to match the decorations in your home, as Ring sell interchangeable holiday faceplates that snap on over the top of your device. There are five different looks to choose from, including snowflakes, Christmas wreath and Christmas lights and each cost £14.99.
