Rihanna's family heartbreak as beloved cousin dies aged 28 after brother's tragic death

Just one month on from safely welcoming her second child, Rihanna’ s new baby bliss has been shattered, following the heartbreaking loss of her beloved cousin. Tanella Alleyne, a cherished member of RiRi’s family sadly died at the age of 28, just six years on since her brother was shot dead after a Christmas celebration.
Well known for documenting her life on Instagram, Tanella had amassed over 55,000 followers on the social media platform and regularly shared photos of herself posing alongside her famous cousin, something which showcased the duo’s strong bond.
Tanella, who was also known by her pals and followers as TT or Nella, died on August 13, with a funeral taking place this past week at Barbados' St George Parish Church. A cause of death has not yet been given.
As friends and family gathered to bid the influencer a fond farewell, it also carried a further bittersweet note for Rihanna’s family, as Tanella’s twin sister Taneisha had also previously died 14 years earlier. Shortly after the news of her death broke, social media followers quickly paid tribute to Tanella as they mourned her tragic death.
Taking to her last Instagram post, in which she posed while wearing a fitted yellow dress at a birthday party, one grieving fan wrote: "You were such a sweet beautiful Angel tanella your forever going to be miss my condolences to your friends and family.” A second fan also commented: "You had a pure soul my friend.
Return if possible," before a third added: "I’m just now seeing this news. heartbroken." The tragic loss of Tanella comes six years on since her brother Tavon was brutally gunned down in Barbados.
The incident took place just before 7pm on Boxing Day 2017, when a gunman shot him multiple times.
