National Hispanic Media Coalition (NHMC) has announced the co-hosts and honorees for the 2024 Impact Awards Gala. Each year, the NHMC honors individuals “making an impact, shifting societal narratives, and setting an example for Latine communities.” The event is on Friday, June 14, 2024, at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA, and the list is star-studded, even featuring two names that have graced our digital cover this year.

As a first step, it will release the Michael Mann-directed “Ferrari” in Thailand on Thursday and in Myanmar on June 21. The film, which premiered in Venice in September last year, was released in other territories between December and February.

It will close on July 7 with a screening of ultra-violent Indian actioner “Kill,” which is produced by Karan Johar and Guneet Monga and which represents Lionsgate’s first foray into South Asian film production.

Joe Otterson TV Reporter Adria Arjona has joined the upcoming Amazon Prime Video series “Criminal,” Variety has learned. Arjona is now the second confirmed cast member in the series, alongside the previously announced Richard Jenkins. “Criminal” is based on the graphic novels of the same name by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips.

Hit Man.Directed by Richard Linklater (Dazed And Confused, Boyhood), the film follows college professor Gary Johnson (Powell) who stumbles into the role of posing undercover as a hitman, only to fall in love with one of his potential clients.Other cast members in the film include Adria Arjona, Austin Amelio, Retta, Sanjay Rao, Evan Holtzman and Molly Bernard.After a short run in cinemas from May 24, Hit Man will be released on Netflix on June 7, 2024.Graham Reynolds composed the film’s soundtrack, who has collaborated with director Richard Linklater on many of his previous projects, including A Scanner Darkly, Bernie, Up To Speed and Before Midnight.The film also features various tracks by artists who originate from New Orleans, ranging from jazz pioneer Jelly Roll Morton to contemporary acts like Rob49.Speaking about the soundtrack, the film’s music supervisor, Randall Poster, said: “The music in this film was born out of New Orleans and has that spirit of letting the good times roll.“That’s sort of a signature of the songs, and if you look at some of the New Orleans jargon, romance is generally complicated and sometimes duplicitous and sometimes aggravating and sometimes tragic.
