HBO has picked up to series The Franchise pilot, a half-hour comedy that takes a wry look at superhero movie-making, from Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes, Veep and Avenue 5 creator Armando Iannucci and writer Jon Brown.

Programs from Elliot Page’s production company and the team behind comedy Letterkenny are among Paramount+’s latest Canadian slate.

Amid the HBO Max rebrand, Succession is ending after four seasons on the premium cable network. The Roy family is at odds with each other and the drama is set to start at 9 p.m. ET and 6 p.m. PT on HBO.

The Jesse Armstrong-created drama hit a series high of 2.5 million viewers on Sunday night, when HBO aired Episode 3 of the fourth and final season. Discovery, that figure represents a combination of Nielsen’s measurement of the audience that tuned into the episode live on HBO’s cable channel and WBD’s own data regarding streams on HBO Max through the night.
