Police Scotland has said enquiries are ongoing into reports of snares being found near Perthshire walks.
Residents have reported different sets of traps near Muthill and Glenturret.
One walker said: “I have not seen anything like this for a long time.
“My last dog had an encounter with a snare years ago and it was quite scary at the time.
“Luckily, I was beside him when his head went though the wire and I managed to grab him and keep him still before he panicked.
