After announcing last week that she and her estranged husband, Jim Toth, would be divorcing, Reese Witherspoon made it official by filing the paperwork!
According to court documents obtained by TMZ on Saturday, the 47-year-old actress filed divorce papers in Nashville, where the former couple was raising their 10-year-old son Tennessee James. As for the reason she cited behind the split? The old catch-all: “irreconcilable differences.”
When Reese and Jim announced their divorce, fans were no doubt surprised by the news, especially since it was days before their 12th wedding anniversary. They seemed like they were going to be one of those rare Hollywood couples who go the distance. However, it turns out that wasn’t the case! Although Reese cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their divorce, plenty of reports have come out over the past week about why things actually did not work out – including that they no longer had “romantic feelings for each other.”
