The 13th annual Record Store Day, originally scheduled for April 18, has been postponed until June 20 due to the growing threat of coronavirus, organizers announced this morning.The worldwide celebration, which promotes independent music retailers, joins a lengthy list of events that have been cancelled or postponed due to concern over the virus.

Record Store Day 2020 has been postponed as health concerns rise in the wake of the global coronavirus pandemic. Originally scheduled to take place on April 18, the global music event will now take place at participating record stores on Saturday June 20.

Brandi Carlile has been named the Record Store Day 2020 Ambassador. She’s the latest in a line of artists selected by RSD organizers to represent the annual event, which falls on April 18 this year. Past artists to be named ambassador include Pearl Jam (2019), Run the Jewels (2018), St. Vincent (2017), and Metallica (2016).
