Rebekah Vardy has trademarked the phrase 'Wagatha Christie', following her court battle with Coleen Rooney, according to reports.The mum of five, 41, seems to have won the rights to the now-famous phrase, which was coined back in October 2019 when Coleen, 37, accused Rebekah of selling stories about her to the press. Rebekah, who is married to Leicester City ace Jamie Vardy, used a pal's company, London Entertainment Inc Ltd, to trademark Wagatha Christie eight months ago, according to The Sun.
The trademark covers everything from clothing to cosmetics and anyone wanting to use the phrase commercially will have to seek permission from Rebekah, and pay her a fee if she allows them to use it. An insider said the WAG made the move in a bid to "take back control" after she lost her High Court battle against Coleen, who is married to former footballer Wayne Rooney.
“This trademark is Becky’s two fingers to Coleen and all the misery associated with ‘Wagatha Christie’. Becky is shrewd and knew people would try to cash in on the phrase.
“She now owns the UK trademark and would consider expanding it to other territories if she thought it was needed," an insider told The Sun. OK! has contacted representatives for Rebekah Vardy for comment.
The source went on to reveal what this means for those wanting to use the phrase commercially, adding: “If someone wants to print the logo on a mug, for example, they would be infringing the trademark if they didn’t ask permission." MGM+ has given the green light to Hollywood Black, a documentary series from director Justin Simien that aims to serve as “a definitive chronicle of a century of the Black experience in Hollywood.”
Selome Hailu MGM+ has greenlit a docuseries titled “Hollywood Black” directed by Justin Simien, who executive produces alongside Forest Whitaker. In four parts, “Hollywood Black” focuses on the history of Black actors, writers, directors and producers who fought for their place in the entertainment industry. The series is based on the book of the same name by historian Donald Bogle. Simien is best known for writing and directing the 2014 film “Dear White People” and creating the Netflix series of the same name. He also directed and wrote 2020’s “Bad Hair,” and directed “Haunted Mansion,” the 2023 horror film based on the Disney theme park ride, which debuts later this year.
