Jordan Moreau David Harbour will star in Sony and PlayStation Productions’ upcoming video game adaptation “Gran Turismo,” which will be directed by Neill Blomkamp, the filmmaker behind sci-fi hits like “District 9,” “Elysium” and “Chappie.” The film will be released on Aug. 11, 2023. The “Gran Turismo” video games are a series of racing games that date back to 1997, with the most recent entry, “Gran Turismo 7,” launching in March 2022. In total, the “Gran Turismo” franchise has sold more than 80 million copies worldwide. The movie’s logline is as follows: “Based on a true story, the film is the ultimate wish fulfillment tale of a teenage Gran Turismo player whose gaming skills won a series of Nissan competitions to become an actual professional race car driver.”

Min has joined the cast of Searchlight Pictures’ “The Greatest Hits,” Variety has learned exclusively.  Star of Netflix’s “The Umbrella Academy” and breakout in the Sundance player “After Yang,” Min joins the previously announced Lucy Boynton in the emotional movie musical from writer-director Ned Benson (“The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby”).  While character details are under wraps, the project is described as a love story centering on the connection between music and memory, and how the two transport us (in the case of this film, physically).

The half-hour comedy’s 10 episodes will premiere all at once on the streaming service. Park plays Timmy Yoon, an analog dreamer who is in charge of the last operating Blockbuster Video in the United States. Timmy, alongside the rest of his employees, must work to remind their community that the local store can provide the human connection that big corporations can’t. Alongside Park, the cast includes Melissa Fumero as Eliza Walker, Tyler Alvarez as Carlos Herrera, Madeleine Arthur as Hannah Hadman and Olga Merediz as Connie Serrano.
