A new police probe has been launched to find the killer who brutally murdered a married couple at their farmhouse 30 years ago today.
Harry and Megan Tooze began July 26, 1993 by heading to their local Tesco store in Talbot Green, Wales, to do the weekly shop while stopping off to collect their pensions on the way home.
On return to their home in Llanharry, Rhondda Cynon Taf, they were shot dead. Their daughter's boyfriend, Jonathan Jones, was found guilty of the murder but later released on appeal after being sentenced to life in 1995.
Despite lengthy investigations into their murders the killer has never been found, but now police in Wales have drafted in the UK's top forensic expert to solve one of the biggest unsolved crimes in the country.
Dr Angela Gallop, who is often referred to as the queen of crime after solving many of the UK’s most notorious murder cases, will bring a new set of eyes to the case.
During her career Gallop has helped to solve the killings of Lynette White and Damilola Taylor as well as the Pembrokeshire murders, reports Wales Online.
Back on July 26, 1993, a neighbour who was called by relatives to check on the couple at their remote farmhouse, Ty ar y Waun Farm, in the village of Llanharry found the front door was unlocked and a half-prepared lunch sat on the kitchen table. A teacup and saucer were in the living room, as if they had had someone to visit.
Two hundred miles away in Orpington, Kent, their only daughter Cheryl had become concerned when no-one picked up the phone for their normal nightly chat. Another relative had also tried to call them around 3pm, but there had been no answer.
Cheryl was concerned because it was out of character and she asked the neighbour to call in and check on them,

Many of the entertainment industry's biggest stars, like Harrison Ford, would rather live a quiet life away from the bright lights and pressures that come from being in a big city. Taylor Swift has given out over $55million (£43million) in bonuses to the crew members working on her ongoing ‘Eras Tour’.The news comes after it was reported yesterday (August 1) that the singer had gifted the production truck drivers – responsible for hauling her equipment to each live show – bonuses of $100,000 (£77,000) each. Now, as detailed by People Magazine, the pop superstar has also shared generous amounts of extra income with the remainder of her ‘Eras Tour’ crew, and the total equates to a reported amount of $55million (£43million).The bonuses arrive as Swift is about to wrap up the US leg of her mammoth world tour, with six sold-out shows at Inglewood’s SoFi Stadium. The live shows kicked off in Glendale, Arizona back in March, and have since gone on to arrive at multiple cities across the country.Already, the tour is set to become one of the highest-grossing tours of all time, and is speculated to have brought in over $1billion (£778million) – potentially explaining why the hefty amount of bonuses were offered to crew members.Although the specific amount given to others working on the tour – including dancers, sound technicians, catering, riggers and more – remains unknown, Michael Scherkenbach, the founder of transportation and logistics company Shomotion, confirmed the gift in a LinkedIn post.“When [Taylor’s father] Scott Swift called the Shomotion LLC steel / stage drivers in for a meeting, this was the last thing they expected – THANK YOU,” he wrote in the update.

The summer of 2023 got a little crazy for Bryan Adams at his Salt Lake City concert earlier this month, when a fan ambushed the singer and took the stage and microphone by storm. Adams was performing his smash hit "Summer of '69" when an unruly concertgoer hopped on stage, prompting the Canadian rocker to move away from the microphone. "Bought it at the five and dime," a man sang commandingly into the microphone, much to Adams' bemusement. The crasher got to sing a few more lyrics before security men in red shirts rushed on stage and grabbed him on both sides. The man was escorted off-stage, and without missing a beat, Adams was able to hit his cue for the iconic line, "Was the summer of '69." Adams posted the ordeal to his Instagram – making fun of the bizarre nature of the act.
Zack Sharf Digital News Director Matt Damon revealed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that Christopher Nolan found his way into one of the actor’s couples therapy sessions. While avoiding marital specifics, Damon said that he told his wife he would take an acting break on only one condition: If Christopher Nolan called, the break could go on hold. His wife agreed to the terms. As fate would have it, Nolan did call with an offer for Damon to star in “Oppenheimer.” “This is going to sound made up, but it’s actually true,” Damon said. “I had — not to get too personal — negotiated extensively with my wife that I was taking time off. I had been in ‘Interstellar’ and then Chris put me on ice for a couple of movies, so I wasn’t in the rotation, but I actually negotiated in couples therapy — this is a true story — the one caveat to my taking time off was if Chris Nolan called. This is without knowing whether or not he was working on anything, because he never tells you. He just calls you out of the blue. And so, it was a moment in my household.”

video on TikTok, which has garnered 4.1 million views and 464,400 likes.Turns out, a small batch of the vinyl LPs were “incorrectly pressed.” Fans who’d purchased the duds got quite the scare when they heard British electronica rather than the hits of the 33-year-old singer-songwriter.And, in a darker twist, lyrics about “flakes of flesh” and “endless rows of sardines” accompanied the music.“At first, I thought maybe the vinyl had a secret message from Taylor. But when I flipped to the B-side, it started saying ‘There’s 70 billion people on earth, where are they hiding?’ I started to get a little scared,” TikToker Rachel Hunter — @mischief_marauder on TikTok — told the BBC.
The new Taylor Swift album, Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) has a little issue with its vinyl editions.
