Angelique Jackson Erika Alexander got her start as a teen on “The Cosby Show” before assuming the breakout role of attorney Maxine Shaw on “Living Single.” But it’s her latest performance in “American Fiction,” a satire that critiques our culture’s obsession with stereotypes, that’s put her in a conversation she’s never been in before — that of awards season contender. Alexander plays Coraline, the love interest of Jeffrey Wright’s Thelonious “Monk” Ellison, a cantankerous author who challenges the industry’s perceptions of “Black entertainment.” On Dec. 5, just hours before sitting down with Variety, Alexander learned she’d been nominated in the supporting category at the Independent Spirit Awards; she attended last year’s ceremony as a guest.

Marks this holiday season.Meghan Markle and Prince Harry unveiled their annual holiday card via email Friday, with the couple’s Archewell organization spreading a message of cheer.“On behalf of the office of Prince Harry & Meghan[,] the Duke and Duchess of Sussex[,] Archewell Productions and Archewell Foundation[,] we wish you a very happy holiday season,” the card reads. “Thanks for all the support in 2023!” The forest green missive, which links back to Meghan and Harry’s annual Archewell Foundation impact report, features a one-minute video set to the song “Happy Place” by Saint Phnx, highlighting some of the organization’s charitable work and important causes from the past year.“We believe in the power of community building as a potent and transformative solution for mental wellness, the cornerstone of our collective wellbeing,” says the Archewell Foundation’s mission statement, which accompanies the card.

Neighbours, the returning soap that has been playing elsewhere (Channel 5 and previously the BBC in the UK, has been released by its new home – streamer Freevee.The series will return to screens on 18 September, with new episodes releasing daily, Monday-Thursday, at 7 a.m. BST, on Amazon Freevee in the UK and the U.S.

The Killers have announced a handful of extra dates and their opening support act for their ‘Rebel Diamonds‘ greatest hits UK and Ireland arena tour.Ahead of the release of their ‘best of’ album, ‘Rebel Diamonds’, The Killers have added four extra dates in Dublin, Manchester, Glasgow and London to their celebratory 2024 tour due to exceptional demand during early ticket pre-sales.Brandon Flowers and Co. have also shared that the Glaswegian band Travis will be serving as opening support for the tour.The ‘Rebel Diamonds’ tour will mark the first time The Killers play arena shows in the UK since 2017’s ‘Wonderful Wonderful’ tour, and will see their return after the band’s most recent stadium tour, which saw them play to 400,000 fans at sold-out shows, and their acclaimed headline appearances at Reading & Leeds 2022.Tickets for the tour are set to go on sale tomorrow, December 8 at 9:30am local time.

Jake Bugg has announced a 2024 headline tour that will see him perform in smaller towns and venues across the UK and Ireland. Big Thief‘s Adrianne Lenker has debuted a new single ‘Ruined’ and announced a 2024 UK and Europe tour.The track is set to become the lead single from Lenker’s forthcoming sixth solo album, which will land next year. Deadline’s Read the Screenplay series spotlighting the year’s most talked-about scripts continues with Rustin, Netflix‘s biopic of civil rights icon Bayard Rustin.
