Jaden Thompson Every year, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade promises larger-than-life floats of widely beloved characters, an appearance by Santa Claus himself and, of course, an abundance of musical performances. This year’s iteration of the longstanding holiday tradition features an extensive lineup of artists, including Cher, Brandy, Jon Batiste, Bell Biv DeVoe and Pentatonix. Find a full list of the 18 artists below: Alex Smith: Smith is a rising country singer hailing from Louisiana, known for songs like “A Few Beers Ago” and “Rhythm of the Rain.” Amanda Shaw: Also from Louisiana, Shaw is a fiddler, singer and songwriter fusing country and pop.
Known as the Queen of Cajun Country, she has released six studio albums since 2001. Ashley Park: Tony nominee Park has made a name for herself performing in “Mean Girls” on Broadway and acting alongside Lily Collins in “Emily in Paris,” on which her character’s song “Mon Soleil” became a hit in its own right. Bell Biv DeVoe: The classic R&B group is a spin-off of New Edition.
Made up of Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins and Ronnie DeVoe, the group is known for their song “Poison,” among other hits. Brandy: Another R&B star, Brandy has been a fixture in the industry with hits like “I Wanna Be Down” and “The Boy is Mine,” featuring Monica. She released a holiday album, “Christmas With Brandy,” earlier this month.
Cher: The Goddess of Pop needs no introduction. She will be closing out the 97th parade as the final performer. Chicago: The pop-rock group Chicago is still touring after 56 years, with classic songs under their belt including “Colour My World,” “If You Leave Me Now” and “Saturday in the Park.” This month, the band released the compilation holiday album “Chicago Greatest

97th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is finally here, bringing holiday cheer, musical performances and giant floats of new and returning characters. This year’s parade will have 16 giant character balloons, 26 floats, 32 novelty and heritage inflatables, 12 marching bands, 700 clowns and eight performance groups (but no partridge in a pear tree). Over 3.5 million people in NYC and more than 50 million viewers at home typically watch the parade, and 5,000 volunteers usually help keep it running smoothly.
