Brian Cox reveals why he turned down a key role in ‘Game Of Thrones’

Game Of Thrones. In his memoir, Putting The Rabbit In The Hat, published two years ago, the Succession star addressed a number of near misses in his career, which included the opportunity to play Robert Baratheon in the HBO fantasy series.READ MORE: ‘Succession’ season four, episode one recap: deals, drama and divorce“I’m often asked if I was offered a role in Game of Thrones – reason being that every other bugger was – and the answer is, yes, I was supposed to be a king called Robert Baratheon,” he wrote. The actor explained that he turned down the role because the money wasn’t great and the character got killed off early.“There’s always been a tendency of American productions to treat British actors differently from American actors,” he said. “In other words, to get them cheap.”Cox also rejected the part of the governor in Pirates Of The Caribbean, a role that eventually went to Jonathan Pryce.

Liam Gallagher says Noel turned down offer to take part in ‘Definitely Maybe’ tour

Liam Gallagher has claimed that Noel Gallagher turned down the opportunity to take part in the upcoming ‘Definitely Maybe’ tour.News of the UK tour was announced yesterday (October 16) and confirmed that Liam would be hitting the road to celebrate 30 years of Oasis’ debut album ‘Definitely Maybe’.The live shows follow on from an update shared by the singer earlier this year in which he reflected on the milestone and teased fans by saying that he was looking for a way to play the 1994 album in full.Liam continued to tease the prospect, later announcing that he’d be playing “naughty” B-sides from the era too as well ‘Half The World Away’ sung by his brother, former bandmate and Oasis’ chief songwriter, Noel. However unfortunately for fans it looks like his brother and ex-bandmate has no intention of taking part in the upcoming tour. The live shows will instead be more of a solo venture for Liam. This news came when Liam took to X (formerly Twitter) earlier today (October 17) to confirm that he offered his brother the chance to participate in the Oasis tour but that no plans ever materialised.“He’s been asked and he’s refused,” he wrote, responding to a fan who asked when he was going to announce Noel’s involvement in the tour. He’s been asked and he’s refused— Liam Gallagher (@liamgallagher) October 17, 2023The 12-date ‘Definitely Maybe 30 Years’ UK and Ireland tour will kick off in Sheffield on June 2 before making stops in Cardiff, Glasgow and Dublin.Three dates at London’s O2 venue are also planned, as are three in his hometown of Manchester, held at the Co-Op Live venue.“I’m bouncing around the house to announce the ‘Definitely Maybe’ Tour,” he said at the time.

Gareth Edwards Says He’d Turn Down James Bond & Suggests He Won’t Go Back To Franchise Filmmaking

Filmmaker Gareth Edwards is coming off his epic sci-fi original film, “The Creator,” a film that saved millions of dollars in VFX by essentially doing it all after the fact. Meaning instead of setting up expensive green screens, blue screens, and mo-cap suits to capture the spots where VFX would typically be inserted, Edwards and his team just shot the movie generally as one would in the wild and then basically Photoshopped on all the VFX afterward (that’s not the most technical version, but probably the most accurate the audiences will understand; read our ‘Creator’ review here).
