Princess Anne is embracing the fashion sustainability lifestyle – by bringing back a dress she wore in the 1970s!
Over the weekend, the now 72-year-old Princess Royal stepped out for the Royal Ascot in a familiar looking dress to some royalists.
Turns out that her soft blue, boxed skirt look was actually a look she wore in 1978.

According to a report from The Telegraph, Anne was first seen wearing the dress in 1978 during a state visit from President Khama of Botswana, Sir Seretse Khama, and his wife, Lady Khama.
“She was first pictured wearing it in 1978, and again in 2021,” the outlet says, adding that Anne has been “known to wear the same clothes for decades.”
For her latest appearance in the look, Anne accessorized with a white cardigan and statement brooch.
Anne‘s older brother, King Charles III, is a passionate supporter of fashion sustainability.
“I’m one of those people who hate throwing anything away. Hence, I’d rather have them maintained, even patched if necessary, than to abandon them,” he told Vogue in a recent interview ahead of his coronation. “The difficulty is, as you get older, you tend to change shape, and it’s not so easy to fit into the clothes.”
He added that he’s “been going on for so long about the need for a circular economy, rather than a linear one where you just make, take and throw away – which is a tragedy, because inevitably we over-exploit natural resources that are rapidly depleting.”
