The Prince of Wales even reportedly told a group of people that he'd "love" to come back with his family while visiting the area around the World Trade Centre and cracked some friendly jokes with tourists.
Speaking to a visitor from Brazil, he told them they had brought the "Brazilian weather with them" to the Big Apple and told a British woman he'd "love to come back with his family".
The 41-year-old prince also bumped into a group of 60-year-old women on a celebratory joint birthday trip and joked with them that they were a "rowdy" bunch.
One of the people in that group was Barb Patterson, 60 who was visiting New York from Halifax in Canada, the Mirror reports.
Discussing their light-hearted conversation, she said: "He said I won't ask how old you are. I said 'I'm 60.' He said 'let's say 50.'"
Rebecca MacEachern, 60, another member of the group was equally as charmed by the future King as she said that William joked: "Isn't 60 the rowdy age?"
She added that the Prince of Wales was a "lovely man" and it was a "thrill" to meet him.
William was visiting with people near the FDNY Ten House, a fire station opposite the World Trade Centre, and was shown around by Laura Kavanagh for about 30 minutes, who also showed him a memorial of the six heroic firefighters from the station who lost their lives on 9/11.
The royal even appeared unbothered as a huge trademark rat scuttled past him through the fire station.
Earlier in the day, William attended the art Earthshot Summit with other high-profile figures such as Prince Albert of Monaco and former Microsoft CEO Bill Gates.
