They're known for a shared love of sport as well as a bit of healthy competition, so the Prince and Princess of Wales wasted no time in getting stuck into a mountain biking challenge on a trip to Scotland. Prince William and Kate Middleton, who are known as the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay when visiting Scotland, have been spending the day in Burghead, Moray and Inverness and looked thrilled at the chance to get competitive with each other again.
On the Prince and Princess's schedule for the day were three visits - to Outfit Moray, Brodieshill Farm and the DAY1 mentoring charity, all of which were perfectly suited to the outdoorsy, charity-minded couple. Looking chic in a checked Barbour jacket and black flared jeans, Kate added a bike helmet to her outfit and laughed as she took on the charity's mountain biking obstacle course.
The Royal couple have often been seen embracing their competitive side on official visits and on Thursday, it looked like Kate had won the challenge as she struck out ahead of husband William on the bike track. William and Kate rode over a series of wooden obstacles, including a tipping plank, and looked like they could not have been enjoying their visit any more.
Outfit Moray is a charity offering young people and their families accessible, affordable outdoor learning and adventure, and as well as biking they run activities including water sports, bushcraft and first aid training. The couple were also due to meet the Lower Speyside Young Farmers at Brodieshill Farm, a group who provide socialising opportunities for its young members in rural, often lonely, areas and work to support each others' mental health.
