The show follows characters who are impacted by HIV in the ‘80s and ‘90s, so many scenes are shot in hospitals and clinics. For these scenes, the show uses real medical supplies as props. According to the show’s out co-creator, Ryan Murphy, these supplies will be donated to Mount Sinai hospital in New York.
