A proposal to transform a former masonic hall and police station in Sale into 30 affordable homes has been approved.
Southway Housing Trust has been granted planning approval by Trafford Council to create homes off Tatton Road. The development will include the refurbishment of the former Sale Police Station and replace Sale Masonic Hall with a three-storey residential complex.
The development will consist of ten houses ranging from 1, 2, and 3-bedroom homes, along with nine 3-bedroom apartments and eleven 2-bedroom apartments. All properties will be available for shared ownership.

Public consultations over the plans were said to have generated positive responses over the scheme with three-quarters of respondents being in favour of the development. The plans have been in the works for a number of years, with the latest proposals revised after a previous application was refused in 2021.
The properties will focus on sustainable transport options and pedestrian access, providing front and rear access points and cycle storage facilities. It is also located within easy access to Sale Town Centre and Sale Metrolink station.
