Police officers seized a ‘sizable amount of cash and drugs’ after stopping a VW.
Officers in Bury working on Operation Revoke, which aims to tackle ‘area-driven’ crime in the borough, have now arrested two men after a stop on Wednesday. In all, the cash came to £10,000, detectives said.
The drugs seized, believed to be cocaine, had a street value of £200,000, officers added. Two men aged 28 and 42 were arrested and currently remain in police custody for questioning.

The result is reward for a ‘no-nonsense’ approach, according to Sergeant James Donnelly. He said: “Our continued investigation into the alleged large scale drugs supply operating in Bury is yielding more good results to keep our communities safe.
“By working closely with our partners, our no nonsense enforcement strategy allows us to act quickly on intelligence we received from members of the community. Op Revoke is still a relatively new unit in Bury, which acts proactively on community concerns by carrying out disruption activities, such as interrupting drug supply, as we have done in this case again so members of our town can be proud to live and work it in.”
In its first month, the operation has seen 24 people arrested, a street value of over £300,000 in Class A and Class B drugs taken off the streets, as well as seizing approximately £80,000 in cash, GMP says.
Any members of the Bury community who have any concerns can still report it to Greater Manchester Police by approaching any of the community beat officers or local PCSO’s, or by dialling 101. Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity – Crimestoppers – on 0800 555 111.
