Police have confirmed that a search taking place at a block of residential flats is connected to the investigation into the alleged murder of 34-year-old Ashley Walsh.
Ashley Walsh, from Failsworth, went missing from North Manchester on January 7 before tragically being found found in a wooded area of Sandhills Park in Collyhurst, with police seen searching the woods on Monday (January 17).
The Manchester Evening News also understands that searches have been taking place at a flat in Stonemill Terrace, Lancashire Hill, Stockport, this week linked to this investigation.
Tactical Aid Unit officers were seen coming to and leaving the block this morning while a Crime Scene Investigation van remains in place.

Residents told the M.E.N that detectives and forensic officers had been searching a flat all week.
One said: "I've seen police in white suits in here all week but had no idea what's going on. It's really scary to see having only recently moved in."
While the police presence appeared to be winding down today, GMP confirmed that the search at the Lancashire Hill flats is connected to the murder of Ashley Walsh.
Aaron Evitt, 33, of Brentnor Road, Manchester, and Gerrard McGlacken, 45, of Kintore Walk, Manchester, have been charged with his murder.
A 30-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.
She has since been released on bail.
