Police presence after woman raped at house in Greater Manchester suburb

Officers are investigating after a woman was reportedly raped inside a property in a Greater Manchester suburb. Eyewitnesses reported seeing a police presence on a street in Whitefield throughout Thursday (April 28).
Police descended on the area after being called out following a report of a rape at around 10.15am yesterday, while an ambulance was also sent out to the incident. Greater Manchester Police says its officers are providing the woman with specialist support following the alleged incident.
The incident is being investigated by GMP and officers are continuing with their enquiries. Anyone with any information about the alleged rape is being urged to come forward.

A spokesperson for GMP said: "Officers were called just before 10.15am yesterday (April 28, 2022) to a report of a rape at an address in the Whitefield area yesterday. A woman was reportedly raped and is receiving specialist support at this time.
"Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information can report it online or via LiveChat on www.gmp.police.uk." Anyone who is unable to provide details to GMP online can call the force on 101, while reports can be made anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers by phoning 0800 555 111 or visiting its website.
