Police are probing an attempted murder on a Scots street after a man was mowed down by a car.

Emergency services are currently dealing with an ongoing incident in Rutherglen after being called to reports of a ‘disturbance’.
Police and paramedics remain at the scene on the town’s Main Street - close to Vogue Bar - after being called at around 2.45pm on Sunday.
A picture from the scene shows a cordon has been put in place blocking off access to the nearby Victoria Place.
A video also shows men wearing Celtic FC tops standing next to paramedics.
It is not know if they were involved in the incident.
At least two police vans are parked up near the scene alongside an ambulance and specialist paramedic vehicle.
It is not currently known if anyone has been seriously injured.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “We were called at around 2.45pm to reports of a disturbance on Main Street in Rutherglen.
“Officers remain in attendance.”
