Police have issued an appeal for witnesses to come forward after an elderly man was hit by a car as he used a walking frame to cross the road.
The crash happened on Sheepfoot Lane in Oldham, near the junction with Oldham Road, at around 8.10am on Monday morning (April 3). Officers said a Hyundai i10 car was being driven east along the road when the man - aged in his 80s - began to cross over using his walking frame.
The car then hit him and emergency services were called to the scene. The man was taken to hospital where he remains for treatment.

The driver stopped at the scene and assisted police. No arrests have been made.
Police are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward. They particularly want to speak to anyone who might have footage of the crash.
In a statement, a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "At around 8:10am on Monday 3 April 2023, a Hyundai i10 car was driving east along Sheepfoot Lane in Oldham approaching the junction with Oldham road. At the same time the pedestrian was making use of a walking frame and began to cross Sheepfoot Lane when then the vehicle collided with the pedestrian.
"Emergency services were called the scene and a man in his 80’s was taken to hospital and remains in hospital. The driver remained at scene and assisted officers with enquiries.
"No arrests have been made. GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
