The incident took place at around 3am on Friday, 9 October, in the Tarryholm Drive area. The victim, a 49-year-old man, was in his home with his partner and young children, when he was attacked by three men who had gained access to the building.
He was taken to Crosshouse Hospital for treatment. One of the men who committed the assault is described as being around 6ft, wearing all black clothing and a black face covering.
