An investigation has been launched over reports a cat was beaten to death in Wigan.
Police officers say the animal was found dead on St James' Road, Orrell, this week.
In a statement published on GMP's Wigan West Facebook page, an officer said there had been reports that the cat died as a result of injuries from being beaten.
Police have asked for anyone with information on this incident to come forward.
