Police in Glasgow cordoned off a city centre street as a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle just an hour after Celtic and Rangers clashed at Parkhead.
Pictures from the scene of High Street, near Glasgow Cross, show multiple emergency services vehicles parked on the road including police cars, ambulances and a rapid response paramedic car. Tape has been erected across the street, between Ingram Street and Bell Street, while officers make enquiries.
A grey BMW was seen parked within the cordon with its hazard lights turned on. Officers were seen examining the vehicle, which appears to have sustained damage to its windscreen and its nearside rear wing.
Police say a 36-year-old man was struck by a vehicle at around 3.30pm - approximately an hour after Celtic hammered Rangers 4-0 in the first Old Firm tie of the Scottish Premiership season.
He was taken to Glasgow's QEUH for treatment, where his condition is currently unknown.
However, officers are hoping to trace the driver, who fled the scene after running down the pedestrian.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.30pm on Saturday, 3 September, police were called to a report of a man struck by a car on High Street, Glasgow.
“Officers attended and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances and trace the driver who made off before police attended.
“The 36-year-old pedestrian has been taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
"Anyone with information that may assist the investigation, including anyone with personal footage is asked to contact officers through 101 with reference 2130 of 3 September."
