Police continue to quiz suspects after 150mph Audi chase with child, 3, on knee

Police are continuing to quiz two suspects after a driver reached speeds of 150mph while a three-year-old child was sat on a passenger's KNEE.
Greater Manchester Police officers first spotted an Audi A3 on Bury New Road in Heywood just before 7pm on Tuesday evening (May 14). The driver failed to stop and officers gave chase, with the driver leading police through Rochdale, towards Whitworth and back to Rochdale.
The Audi reached speeds of up to 150mph during the chase, police said, before the car smashed into a lamppost on Bentley Street at around 7.10pm. Officers discovered that during the dangerous chase, a three-year-old child had been sat on the passenger's knee.

A dog was also inside the car, as well as cannabis. No injuries were reported.
The child was 'taken into police protection' and the dog was 'seized for its own protection'. The car was also seized.
The driver, an adult man, and the passenger, another adult man, were both arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop for police and possession with intent to supply class B drugs. Both for taken into custody for questioning.
In an update issued this morning, a spokesperson for GMP said both remain there for further questioning by detectives. Yesterday, Inspector Richard Shelton, of GMP's Rochdale district, said: “This is extremely dangerous levels of offending and I’m thankful to report that no one was hurt during this pursuit.
