Police have today confirmed that a body found in a forest is missing mum Katie Kenyon. The devastating discovery was made in the Forest of Boland on Friday evening shortly after police were given new information about where to search for the mother-of-two.
Katie, 33, was last seen getting in to a Ford Transit van in Burnley on the morning of April 22. A man has since appeared in court charged with her murder.

A Home Office post-mortem examination was conducted yesterday and the cause of death was given as head injuries. Lancashire Police said in a statement today: "We can now sadly confirm that the body found in the Forest of Bowland is that of Katie Kenyon. Police found Katie on Friday following extensive searches and she has now been formally identified as the missing Padiham mum, 33.
"Our thoughts remain with Katie’s family and loved ones at this difficult time. The family continues to be supported by specially trained officers. A Home Office post-mortem examination was conducted yesterday and the cause of death was given as head injuries.
"We would like to thank, once again, all those who helped during the search for Katie." Greater Manchester Police, as well as other trained search officers from Lancashire, North Wales and Merseyside were drafted in to help with the mass search, with specialist dogs, a plane and other specialist search equipment being used.
A man has since been charged with the murder of the 33-year-old, from Padilam in Burnley, and appeared in court earlier this week in connection with her disappearance. Andrew Burfield, 50, of Todmorden Road in Burnley will face trial for her murder in
