People who rely on step-free access to use trains in Greater Manchester have been left in limbo as to when the next stage of work will begin to make the region's railway stations accessible.
Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) applied for Government funding in September 2022 via the Access for All scheme to begin work on 11 priority train stations. But more than a year later the region is still waiting for an update from the Department for Transport - which could now come after the autumn statement on November 22.
The setback leaves some disabled people and those who travel with items such as buggies unable to make use of the region's railway network at certain stations.

Nathaniel Yates, a 30-year-old campaigner from Stockport who has cerebral palsy, has demanded "action" to get spades in the ground on making train stations more accessible.
He told the Local Democracy Reporting Service: "I am hoping these changes will come, we are waiting for Access for All. It feels frustrating that it has been pushed back, things do move very slowly.
"I am not asking for this overnight, that's not realistic. I am just asking for changes to be made over time. I will not stop campaigning until there are spades in the ground.
"It would be brilliant if the Government made all train stations accessible, there's a big part of the population that can't use train stations such as people with buggies and who use wheelchairs. We just need some action on this issue."
