A Place In The Sun presenter Laura Hamilton has talked about her split from her husband Alex Goward after they were married for ten years.
Laura, whose grandfather is Scottish, split from Alex, 41, last month, before heading off for a holiday in Spain.
The 39-year-old told Hello! magazine "It was a chapter of my life that I am now closing, and I have so many happy memories."
She and Alex had two children together, son Rocco, eight, and daughter Tahlia, six and she has said she is concentrating on them for the time being,
She added: "There have been times I have been so overwhelmed with sadness.
"There is a quote about when it is scary to jump, that is when you should or you never move on in life.
"That is how I feel about my forties, even if at times it feels quite scary and daunting. I am ready to face and embrace everything that is thrown at me."
Laura has posted online about her split using an image featuring artwork displaying a Dr Seuss quote, saying: "Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened.
"This isn’t something I ever thought I’d be saying but, after 13 years of being together Alex and I have separated.
"Our children are and always will be our number one priority and we would respect privacy for our family at this time. Laura."
Just hours later she was having her own place in the sun in Spain as she shared a stunning scenic view of the blue sea on Instagram from her balcony.
