Sam Heughan says the new season of Outlander goes to some pretty dark places as he reveals his Everest film with Ewan McGregor is cancelled for the time being.
Sam has spoken about the much anticipated season six of Outlander, which hits screens on March 6, and told of some of the drama we can expect in a chat with Zoe Ball on Radio 2.
The Scots star, who is currently in LA, also told Zoe his much anticipated film with Ewan McGregor about climbing Everest is not happening just now.
Sam spoke at length about Outlander's new series and told Zoe, who is a huge Heughligan and Outlander fan: "It has been such a long time coming. it's been an extended Droughtlander as they like to call it but we're back.
"We're back on March 6 And this new season and I'm so excited we have our premiere this week and I just love all that build up, you know, to the actual premiere date, so it's gonna be a lot of fun."
"The premiere is at the Royal Festival Hall and the gang is going to be there. There'll be some whiskey. I'm sure there'll be a lot of fans."

Sam revealed: "I mean, there's some really tough scenes this season. I hate to say it, it's no exception. It goes to some pretty dark places pretty quickly. "So it's no good. Well basically we pick up just after the end of season five and there's so much happened. Claire is recovering from the trauma and being assaulted."
He added: "Jamie's trying to deal with the War of Independence that is fast approaching he knows what's about to happen.
"So he's trying to trying to be on the right side. He's got sort of divided loyalties.
