The life of a young actor can often be unpredictable, but rarely do you have the opportunity to play a child trapped in a grown man’s body and a truffle hunter’s unwitting accomplice in hunting down his lost pig in one year. And yet, that’s what Alex Wolff found himself doing in back-to-back projects.

‘Pig ‘to open EdinburghThis year’s Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF) will open with the European premiere of Pig, starring Nicola Cage. The screening will take place on August 18. In the film, Cage plays a truffle hunter who lives alone in the Oregonian wilderness and must return to his past in Portland in search of his beloved foraging pig after she is kidnapped. The pic will be released in the UK by Altitude on August 20. EIFF runs August 18-25 this year.

It appears the pandemic-induced fever dream idea of having Nicolas Cage star as Joe Exotic in a TV narrative adaptation of “Tiger King” was just too good (or weird) to be true. According to an interview with Variety, Cage explained why he is no longer attached to the Amazon version of the Joe Exotic story.

Nicolas Cage has revealed that he won’t be playing the role of convicted felon Joe Exotic as Amazon has reportedly shelved the “Tiger King” drama series. Amazon felt the series had become “past tense”, since “it took such a long time for them to come together,” the 57-year-old actor, an Oscar winner whose performances have been translated to thousands of memes, told Variety.
