Phyllis George, TV Host and Pioneer on 'The NFL Today,' Dies at 70

Large crowds of mourners came out today to pay respect to George Floyd, who lost his life at the hands of the Minneapolis Police Department, sparking nationwide protest. A two-hour public viewing was held in Raeford, about 25 miles outside of Fayetteville — where the 46-year-old man was born.

By the time he reached his twenties, George Floyd was already a legend on the streets of Third Ward, a historically Black and culturally rich enclave on the south side of Houston, Texas. A two-sport athlete at Jack Yates High School, he was the generous giant of a tight end who helped lead his team to a state championship game in 1992.

There will be public memorial services held for George Floyd, whose death last week in the custody of Minneapolis police sparked nationwide protests, in the three cities where he lived.

Hagen Mills has died at the age of 29 following an attempted murder-suicide on May 19 in Mayfield, Kentucky, according to the Mayfield Police Department. Police responded to a 911 call at approximately 5:45pm ET saying that a woman had been shot.

Phyllis George has sadly passed away. She was 70-years-old.
